Top Five Wines For Easter

Top Five Wines For Easter

Easter comes at a time in most parts of the country where spring has fully arrived and the freshest whites and rosés are funneling into the market. So, let's showcase these youthful fruits of the vine on your Easter table. In our opinion, there may be nothing better than a recently arrived rosé paired with your Easter brunch. So much promise in the pastel hue of the wine and the budding flowers signaling rebirth after a long, grey winter.  One's choice of food for Easter can vary widely but, assuming that many of you will stick with some of the classics i.e. lamb, ham, deviled eggs, potato gratin, spring pasta, quiche etc, here are the 5 wines we highly recommend to enjoy during your upcoming fete.

2023 Seehof Pinot Blanc- An electrifying white wine, light to medium bodied and overflowing with freshness and aromatic intensity. This would be a great pairing during your Easter brunch or served next to a creamy spring pasta bolognese.

2024 Muller-Ruprecht Pinot Noir Rosé- The freshest vintage just arrived in the shop last week and it is absolutely on fire. Possibly our favorite vintage of the past few years. Crystalline, citrusy, and fresh. Pair with a plate of fresh, briny oysters or with your Easter brunch omelet or quiche.

2023 GLOW GLOW Pinot Blanc- Our second Pinot Blanc in the line-up, yet vastly different from the Seehof. The Glow has a bit more texture and can stand up nicely with a buttery, pickle-y ham sandwich.

2022 Domaine Tempier Bando Rouge "Lulu et Lucien"- Nothing in our opinion is more of a salve for the soul than a slightly chilled Bandol Rouge paired with a rosemary infused leg of Lamb. Deeply colored and flavored with good body, but not too much.

2020 Matthiasson Pheonix Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon- If you decide to pull out that savory rib-eye then you must pair it with this special Cab from Jill and Steve. Opaque, structured, intense. Decant for an hour before serving.
