Our Guide To Drinking Natural Wine In Paris

Over the past twenty years we have been travelling to Paris almost every year in order to discover the bounty of what we think is the most gastronomically perfect city on this planet. Given that we have loved natural wines before the name ever really existed, it should come as no surprise that Paris is our go to spot to explore this wines. Paris, along with Tokyo were early supporters of the Natural wine thing. There are thousands of natural wine centric bars, shops, and restaurants. If you want to know what natural wine is, read this blog and if you are curious about whether or not natural wine can give you a nasty day after hangover, read this as well.
Les Enfants du Marche- An excellent lunch snack spot serving some serious food and an extensive natural wine list in a very casual environment. Japanese French fusion at its finest. We had the greatest most soulful, life-affirming onion soup there during a rainy day walk.
Butcher of Paris- Part Butcher shop part wine bar with small plates like cheese, charcuterie, bread. A perfect pit stop to grab a quick lunch or snack. You can also snag some provisions to go. They are a really fun and who's who of the natural wine world on their list.
Le Servan- A lovely neighborhood restaurant putting out some serious, three star worthy cuisine. Their wine list is abbreviated but so well curated and the wine by the glass options are so affordable and diverse. When they serve oysters, they don't just shuck and plate but add a high level of creative bad adding garnishes, sauces etc that bring their dishes to the next level.
Cafe Les Deux Gares- A really lovely, Neo bistro located right next to Cafe de La Gard du Nord. All the classic French bistro dishes are available but with a lovely, fresh twist. A pretty extensive natural wine list. Highly suggest sitting outside on the lively terrace while you sip your goodies.
Bistro Paul Bert- This is your spot to get some seriously delicious meat and rib sticking food. If you go here for lunch, you will need a nap afterwords. Their selection of wines is encyclopedic and serious. Great natural wine selection as well.
Le Tagine- We need to nod our heads to Le Tagine, a Moroccan resto that has lead the way in the natural wine scene in Paris for over 40 years. Uber casual and often tended by the owner and founder. She has a lovely list and LOTS of Beaujolais!
Delicatessen Cave- An insanely stocked wine shop FULL of natural wines from everyday to the most unicorn, hard to get fancy goods. If you buy a bottle of wine the staff will pop it for you on the spot and you can enjoy on their terrace.
