2023 Lauer Riesling Ayler Spatlese No. 77

We spend most of our days arguing on behalf of Riesling not being sweet and 99% of our collection is indeed not sweet. Exception here. Before you write it off...how many people order coffee with milk and syrups, drink smoothies, pound sports drinks, secretly steal candy from their kids stash, and drinking overblown, high alcohol California Cabernet (yes, it has very high initial sugar levels). Stop pretending. Allow some sweetness in your wine.

The 2023 Ayler Spatlese does have residual sweetness, but dinner sweet not dessert sweet, it’s exotic, fleshed with a nose of pineapple and coconut with an earthy spice. Paired with Panang Curry it will make you cry.
