Pinot Blanc? What is its identity? Hard to know what the reference point would be...maybe a powerful, honeyed, ripe expression from Alsace, or not? Who knows.
What we can say without question is that Pinot Blanc from Germany, especially from the limestone-y soils of the Rheinhessen, is our jam. There is minerality, there is fruit, there is a touch of weight, but not too much. Most importantly, there is a finely etched acidity that keeps our glasses returning to the bottle.
Not to mention this label was pulled directly from an original painting by West Palm Wine Co.'s Theresa Drapkin.
