The vineyard is named after Monteraponi's original 10th century property owner, Baron Ugo Marchese. A single vineyard plot planted mostly to Sangiovese. The current owner loves Nebbiolo and Red Burgundy so expect some elegance interwoven into these sturdy wines. Pair with a nice pasta bolognese and a documentary about the Brutalist school of architecture.
