For about 100 years, this family has been crafting traditional wines of Jura. Remember, Jura wasn't always the instagram star that it is today. When I began my wine career in 2005, there were a small handful of Jura wines in the market and supported by a very small yet passionate niche of the wine industry. While there are many new arrivals to the Jura who have risen to celebrity status and sell their wines at very luxe prices, Montborgeau has remained steadfast in their dedication to traditional techniques and faire pricing for what's inside the bottle. I dream of this wine paired with cream based, earthy dishes. Think New England clam chowder, mushroom and barley soup, or the classic chicken with morels in a creamy herb sauce.
