2022 Arianna Occhipinti SP68 Bianco

SP68 is the name of the road that cut through Arianna Occhipinti's original vineyard in Vittoria. This orange wine sees a 2 week maceration and is then aged in a concrete tank for 8 months and bottled unfiltered.

After gaining the attention of the Louis/Dressner importers as a young 24-year-old winemaker on her first vintage, Arinna has become a key figure in the new wave of low intervention producers appearing across Europe.

It was through the intervention of her uncle, Giusto Occhpinti of COS, that she was engendered with a love of winemaking as a teenager. This spurred her toward winemaking school, but she has since rejected many of the techniques she was taught in favor of organics, no additives in cellar and wild yeasts. She makes some of the most exciting and dynamic wines in southern Italy, true expressions of Sicily’s amazing terroir.
