2022 Ostal Levant "Levant Vendredi" VDF Rouge

Louis and Charlotte Pérot cultivate 3 hectares of vines planted with Merlot and Malbec. Their cave is dug into the limestone rock near their house. Their winemaking is simple: fruits are painstakingly selected, destemmed by hand and fermented slowly. 

100% Cot (also known as Malbec) unfiltered and unfined, sans sulfur additions. The perception of wines from Cahors is that of inky darkness marked by fearsome tannins. The Pérots manage to make wines that have a mineral lift, while maintaining the richness of color and weight of Côt.

In the south of France, 30 minutes west of Cahors in soils heavy with clay, rich in iron deposits and limestone rock. Black-fruited, with a prickle and energy to pair perfectly with braised meats and BBQ.
