2021 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette

$47.99

This is truly a Swiss army knife kind of wine — chill it for the picnic table, serve it during a dinner party, or drink it on its own. 100% organic and biodynamic Gamay, from 70-year-old vines.

Born to South Korean farmers, and adopted by a French couple, Mee Godard grew up in France, then received bachelor and master degrees from Oregon State, where she studied polyphenolics, plant physiology and viticulture. In 2013, she bought five incredibly beautiful parcels in Corcelette, Cote du Puy, and Moulin-á-Vent, all sub-regions of Beaujolais.

Corcelette is a vineyard within the town of Morgon, France, known for its capacity for elegance, partly due to its southeasterly exposure.

While it's expressive now (2024) it can easily be cellared. We don't say this often about Beaujolais, but this one deserves a decant if you would like those tannins to integrate.
