Massereau is a heroic family estate that has been making classic Bordeaux without all the makeup ( and additives, chemicals etc). These are the kind of Bordeaux properties we love--intimate, indie, and making Bordeaux of great expression that don't cost an arm and a leg. If you wanna save yourself like $600 do not buy the 1st and 2nd growths of Bordeaux ( many owned by anonymous and absent international corporations) but instead reach for the wines of Massereau. Equally as impressive if all that you care about is the quality and the soul of the wine.
